Over 50 years ago, just after World War II, a group of men dedicated to the Grand Valley had a vision. That vision included people no longer having to haul water to their homes, farms and ranches and drink untreated water from cisterns. To ensure that we had a dependable source of high quality drinking water, the men formed the Ute Water Conservancy District.

Thanks to their efforts, Ute Water now provides water to more than 70,000 people-over half of the Grand Valley's population. The water is snowmelt - nature's purest form of water - from the Grand Mesa. 

Ute Water continues to exceed all water quality standards while delivering high-quality mountain water to its customers. Scientists at Ute Water's treatment plant conduct rigorous tests for more than 80 substances. They continually test and monitor your drinking water according to strict federal and state regulations to ensure that it is safe to drink.
