Board of Director

The Ute Water Conservancy District (“District”) hereby gives notice that the terms of office for five directors of the District will expire on May 13, 2016. The directors whose terms expire are one from each of Subdivision No. 1, Subdivision No. 2, and Subdivision No. 5 and two from Subdivision No. 3.
In addition, the District hereby gives notice that one vacancy exists on the Board of Directors of the District due to the resignation of a director. The vacancy exists in Subdivision No. 4. The person appointed to fill this vacancy will serve the remaining unexpired term of the vacant director’s position. This term expires on May 10, 2018.
            The District further gives notice that applications for appointment as a director from Subdivision No. 1, Subdivision No. 2, Subdivision No. 3, and Subdivision No. 5 to fill the director positions whose terms have expired and from Subdivision No. 4 to fill the vacant director position will be accepted by the Mesa County District Court until April 13, 2016. Application forms may be obtained at the District office, 2190 H 1/4 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505 or on the District’s website (www.utewater.org). Completed applications may be mailed to the Mesa County District Court, P.O. Box 20,000, Grand Junction, CO 81502-5030.
            An applicant for director from the subdivisions whose director’s term is expiring and the vacant position must live in and be the owner of real property within that subdivision, must have resided within the District boundaries for a period of not less than one year, and must have a background reflecting agricultural, municipal, industrial or other interests in the beneficial use of water and water matters within the District.
            The boundaries of Subdivision No. 1, Subdivision No. 2, Subdivision No. 3, Subdivision No. 4, and Subdivision No. 5. of the District are described as the following:
            Sub-District 1: that territory within the District bounded on the west by the centerline of 30 Road, north of the Colorado River, and also bounded on the west by the centerline of 29 Road, south of the Colorado River.
Sub-District 2: that territory within the District north of the Colorado River bounded on the west by the centerline of 23 Road and bounded on the east by the centerline of 30 Road.
Sub-District 3: that territory within the District north of the Colorado River bounded on the west by the Colorado State and Utah State line and bounded on the east by the centerline of 23 Road.
Sub-District 4: that territory within the District south of the Colorado River bounded on the west by the Gunnison River and bounded on the east by the centerline of 29 Road.
Sub-District 5: that territory within the District which is south of the Colorado River and west of the Gunnison River, generally known as “The Redlands.”
