UTE IN THE COMMUNITY

Ute Water Conservancy District was established with the foundation of providing a service to a community. That foundation's strength remains true to this day as the employees, the District's most valuable resource, passionately become involved with and support the District's responsibility to our community.

Throughout the year, you will see the faces of Ute Water conducting educational tours, giving presentations to a captive audience, coordinating the State's largest Children's Water Festival, providing meeting space for local non-profits, volunteering and providing educational resources to our schools, handing out free water at community events, and actively participating in state-wide decisions that influence the supply of water to our community.

CHILDREN'S WATER FESTIVAL

WESTERN COLORADO CHILDREN'S WATER FESTIVAL

Each year, over 2,500 fifth grade students assemble to Colorado Mesa University's campus in Grand Junction, Colorado to participate in a two day Western Colorado Children's Water Festival. The festival has grown to be recognized as the largest Children's Water Festival in the State of Colorado. The presentations are designed to give students an opportunity to learn about the many different roles water plays in their individual lives, their community and the world in which they live.

GIANT MAP OF COLORADO

GIANT MAP OF COLORADO

Ute Water Conservancy District is excited to introduce and coordinate a unique and unforgettable learning experience. The Giant Map of Colorado, an oversized vinyl floor map, is designed to encourage geographic learning through physical movement and games, teaching place names, physical and cultural geography, map reading skills, and of course water education. The presentations are targeted for both youth and adult learning and are aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards for Social Studies.
