District Projects

28 1/2 Road Waterline Replacement 

The District will replace approximately 1,500  feet of 6-inch water line with an 8-inch water line in the Orchard Mesa area. Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2026.

31 3/4 Road Waterline Improvement Project 

The District will install 900 feet of 2-inch waterline extensions at 31 3/4 Road, north of B 1/2 Road. The purpose of the project is to improve the District's distribution system. Traffic control will be utilized for this project.

Four Canyons Parkway Project - Phase 2 

The District continues to coordinate with the City of Grand Junction's efforts to construct a new traffic corridor along F 1/2 Road (Four Canyons) from 24 1/2 Road to 25 Road to install new water infrastructure.

The District will install 3,550 feet of new 12-inch C900 PVC to replace the 12-inch AC pipe along 25 Road and new fire hydrants. 

Southside Transmission Main Waterline Replacement Project - Schedule H 

The District has contracted with Suncore Construction & Materials to replace approximately 11,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe with 30-inch welded steel pipe, from 36 ¾ Road and E Road to Sobre El Rio Subdivision and Aldrea Vista Court. 

Work will resume on Monday, September 14th, for a water line replacement project in the Sobre El Rio subdivision, with completion estimated by the end of November.

Residents should expect temporary traffic impacts while construction is underway in this area. Suncore will make every effort to minimize disruption and maintain access whenever possible; however, motorists should plan for minor delays and allow a little extra travel time during construction. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and one-lane traffic operations as needed to safely move vehicles through the work zone. Please refer to the map below for details on the latest traffic impacts. Access to all residences will remain open throughout the project. Construction will take place during regular business hours, Monday
through Friday.

Southside Transmission Main Waterline Replacement Project - Schedule I 

The District will replace approximately 11,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe with 30-inch welded steel pipe, from Sobre El Rio Subdivision along Highway 6 to Rapid Creek Road. Construction is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2026.

Sundance/Sunridge Waterline Replacement Project 

Update 9/11/2026

Dirtworks Construction, LLC will install infrastructure on Tuesday, September 15th, resulting in a planned outage. Visit our Outage Center for more details. Homes impacted by this outage will receive a reverse notification on 9/11 and 9/14. 

Project Details

Ute Water Conservancy District has contracted with Dirtworks Construction, LLC to replace approximately 1,600 feet of 6-inch water line on Sundance Drive and Sunridge Road between U.S. Highway 50 and 29 Road.

During this project, intermittent road closures are possible. Access to residences will be maintained at all times. Construction hours will be during business hours, Monday through Friday. Closures and detour information will be updated here. 


There may be several planned water service outages during the project to ensure the safety of those working on the project and to connect water services. Some customers may be connected to temporary water services during construction to maintain water service. Reverse notifications are the primary form of communication to keep customers updated regarding planned outages.
